The 39th Sri Lanka National Rowing Championships were held from April 3rd to April 6th, 2024, at the Diyawanna Rowing Center in Battaramulla. Havishka Perera, a remarkable talent from our school, delivered outstanding performances, setting new records along the way. 🚣‍♀️🥇
Havishka clinched the gold medal in the Schoolgirl Single Scull event, clocking an impressive time of 8:39, the fastest ever recorded by a junior in this category. This victory marks the first time a 15-year-old has won this title in the history of Sri Lanka’s rowing, showcasing her exceptional skill and dedication.
She didn’t stop there; Havishka also secured gold in the Under 18 Girls Junior Single Scull with a time of 8:45, surpassing the previous records and earning her second gold medal of the championships. 🌟
Her achievements not only bring honor to our school but also set a high standard for junior rowers nationwide. Havishka Perera is truly an asset to our team and a rising star in the rowing community. We are immensely proud of her accomplishments!
