Junior School Inter-House Football: A Showcase of Skill and Team Spirit

November was alive with energy and excitement as the Junior School hosted the much-anticipated Inter-House Football tournaments for Years 3 and 4 on the 18th and Years 5 and 6 on the 21st. These events were a testament to the students’ dedication, sportsmanship, and teamwork as they battled it out for glory on the pitch.

Year 3 and 4 Tournament Highlights

Year 3 and 4 students kicked off the competition with an impressive display of skill and determination. Every game brought thrilling moments, from incredible saves to perfectly placed goals, and the cheers from the sidelines created an electrifying atmosphere.

Congratulations to the standout performers:

MVP: Leo Wickremasinghe (Hobbit)

Best Goalie: Aiden Sebastian-Herath (Unicorn)

Golden Boot: Yazid Ricardo (Unicorn)

In the house standings, Unicorn House took the top spot, followed by Hobbit, Centaur, and Griffin.

On the girls’ side, the competition was just as fierce, with the players showcasing their tactical skills and resilience.

MVP: Filomena Bouisse (Unicorn)

Best Goalie: Saadiya Sulaiman (Unicorn)

Golden Boot: Aanya Weliwatta (Unicorn)

Unicorn House once again triumphed, securing first place, followed by Centaur, Hobbit, and Griffin.

Year 5 and 6 Tournament Highlights

Year 5 and 6 students brought an elevated level of intensity and strategy to the field. Their games were fast-paced and full of incredible teamwork and individual brilliance.

Best Goalie: Mirza Atakul (Centaur)

Golden Boot: Talib Imran (Hobbit)

Among the boys, Hobbit House emerged victorious, followed by Griffin, Centaur, and Unicorn.

The girls displayed exceptional skill and determination, ensuring that the matches were equally exciting and competitive.

MVP: Madelyn Jenkins (Centaur)

Best Goalie: Seungha Kim (Centaur)

Golden Boot: Githsaara Panapitiya (Hobbit)

Centaur House claimed the first place for the girls, followed by Hobbit, Griffin, and Unicorn.

Both tournaments were a celebration of the students’ passion for football and their ability to work together as a team. Whether it was a perfectly executed goal or a last-minute save, every moment reflected their dedication and love for the game.
