Before half term, our Year 1 students experienced a memorable Teddy Bear Picnic at Independence Square, turning rainy days into a wonderful adventure. This event was about fun and friendship and an exciting part of our geography lesson, allowing students to learn more about our local area.
The trip provided an excellent opportunity for students to explore the area around our school on the way to Independence Square, a vibrant and significant location in Colombo. Despite the drizzle, the children were eager to discover more about the square’s history.
After exploring Independence Square, the children eagerly returned to school with their teddies, bubbling with excitement for the picnic. They couldn’t wait to share a feast of delicious treats with their classmates, and the air was filled with laughter.
Despite the rain, the children found joy in the field trip, transforming it into a remarkable adventure that taught them to embrace challenges with a growth mindset.
