Our Year 2 students embarked on an exciting science experiment to learn about hygiene and the importance of washing hands with soap to eliminate germs.
Using a simple yet effective method, we demonstrated the effectiveness of soap by sprinkling pepper on the surface of water. The pepper represented germs, and when we added liquid soap, the pepper quickly dispersed, illustrating how soap helps remove germs from our hands.
The students were fascinated to see how the soap interacted with the water, reinforcing the concept that washing hands with soap is essential for staying healthy. Mrs Cook walked into 2D at the time the lesson was going on and was impressed with the engagement and enthusiasm shown by the children during the experiment.
We hope this hands-on learning experience encourages our students to practice good hygiene habits at home and share what they’ve learned with their families!
