The British School in Colombo emerged victorious in a thrilling cricket encounter, defeating Colombo International School to claim the Hasan Sohail Memorial Trophy.
BSC won the toss and elected to bat first, posting a formidable total of 183/3 in their allotted 25 overs. Kenneth De Silva was the standout performer, smashing a scintillating 93 runs, which included 7 sixes and 6 boundaries. He shared a dominant opening partnership of 146 runs with Adish Ubayasiri, who contributed a solid 41 runs. Avera De Abrew and Jeraald Marcus both added 16 runs each to help BSC reach their total.
In response, CIS fought valiantly but fell short, finishing with 182/4 in their 25 overs. Bosith Wijesundara was the star for CIS, top-scoring with a determined 86 runs, while Vishen Gunasekara provided solid support with 47 runs. Despite their best efforts, CIS were unable to chase down the target, and BSC emerged victorious by 1 run.
