This term, our Junior Duke adventurers from Year 1 to Year 6 have been busy taking on exciting challenges, learning new skills, and earning well-deserved badges! From making sandwiches to mastering first aid, our students have proven that they are up for anything.
Mini Dukes Making Big Moves!
Our Year 1 and 2 Mini Dukes started their journey with essential life skills, showing off their sandwich-making, shoe-tying, and tidying-up talents. Some even learned how to set a table properly—parents, you’re welcome!
In Year 2, the Gold Mini Dukes took things a step further by preparing simple meals, learning about road safety, and even writing thank-you notes (because good manners never go out of style!).
Junior Dukes Stepping Up
Our Year 3 and 4 Junior Dukes have been working hard to develop their independence. From sewing buttons back onto shirts (a surprisingly tricky skill!) to washing clothes by hand and baking their first-ever batch of cookies, they have embraced every challenge with enthusiasm. There have been plenty of trial-and-error moments in the kitchen, but also some truly delicious results!
Our Year 4 students have taken on even bigger challenges, such as preparing healthy snacks like soup, learning basic first aid skills, and actively contributing to their community by cleaning a public space under the guidance of an adult.
Gold & Platinum Dukes Leading the Way
Our Year 5 and 6 students have taken on even bigger responsibilities, showing incredible leadership and problem-solving skills. They’ve planned meals for their families, learned basic first aid, and even faced one of the most difficult tasks—waking up early to prepare breakfast!
Some of our Platinum Junior Dukes in Year 6 have been learning CPR, planning safe public transport routes, and helping younger students with their challenges. They’re proving every day that they’re ready for the next stage of their journey.
More Than Just Badges!
While earning certificates and badges is exciting, what really makes the Junior Duke Award special is the sense of achievement and confidence it builds. We’ve loved seeing students push themselves outside their comfort zones, try new things, and develop real-world skills they’ll use for life.
If you’ve enjoyed Junior Duke this term—keep going! And for those who haven’t joined yet, there’s always next term to take on the adventure!
