Gold Award Participants Conquer the Pekoe Trail

Written by:

Nine determined Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Gold level participants embraced an unforgettable journey on the Pekoe Trail from the 2nd to the 5th of September. While their route cards provided a strong foundation, the students quickly learned that the true essence of the expedition lay in navigating unpredictable challenges.

Getting lost and encountering dead ends became the most valuable lessons of all, transforming moments of confusion into opportunities for teamwork and critical thinking. They learned to trust their instincts, re-evaluate their plans under pressure, and find new paths forward, ultimately emerging with a deep sense of accomplishment.

They will now plan for their qualifying journey scheduled to take place next month, confident and ready for the next challenge.
