Senior School Swimming Gala 2025 –

A Celebration of Sport and Spirit

On Thursday 11th September, the Senior School came together for a wonderful day of swimming, teamwork and House spirit at our annual Senior School Swimming Gala. The atmosphere around the pool was electric, with cheering parents, enthusiastic peers and determined swimmers creating a truly memorable occasion.

This year’s Gala was designed to celebrate inclusivity and participation as much as excellence and competition. From the light-hearted fun of the Treasure Hunt in the pool, where students of all abilities could join in, to the intensity of the Individual Medley races, every swimmer had an opportunity to shine. It was heartening to see so many students and staff take part, support their Houses and challenge themselves in the water.

The event showcased the wide spectrum of swimming talent within our school. Some students took their very first strokes in front of a crowd, while others demonstrated technical brilliance and competitive spirit in tightly contested races. Every splash, cheer, and finish reflected the commitment, courage and camaraderie that lie at the heart of our school’s sporting ethos.

House pride was on full display throughout the day, with students rallying behind their teammates in a vibrant show of encouragement and unity. After a series of exciting races, relays and novelty events, it was Shakespeare House that ultimately claimed the overall victory – a well-deserved triumph that capped off a day of celebration and healthy rivalry.

A highlight of the Gala was the way our swimmers embodied the school’s values: resilience, inclusivity and ambition. Whether racing for points, diving for treasures, or cheering from the poolside, every student played a role in making the Gala such a resounding success.

Congratulations to every participant for making the 2025 Senior School Swimming Gala such a memorable and uplifting occasion.
