🌍 Earth Week at The British School in Colombo đźŚ±

Earth Week at The British School in Colombo was a resounding success, celebrated with passion, creativity, and a shared commitment to protecting our planet. It all began on Monday, 28th April, with a fun and meaningful Non-Uniform Day. Students and staff dressed in green, blue, and earthy tones to show their love for the Earth and to set the tone for a week full of eco-conscious learning and action.

But the week was about much more than dressing up. Students across the school took time to write their own Earth Pledges—personal promises to protect the environment in their daily lives. From reducing plastic use and conserving water to planting trees and turning off unused lights, the pledges were thoughtful, creative, and inspiring. These were proudly displayed around the school, serving as powerful visual reminders that small actions can lead to big change.

Throughout the week, classrooms buzzed with engaging discussions and hands-on activities. Students participated in friendly debates about environmental issues, created eye-catching comic strips to spread green messages, and took part in various creative projects and sustainability initiatives. Each activity was designed to help students reflect on their role as responsible global citizens.

Earth Week may be over, but the spirit of environmental awareness and responsibility continues to grow stronger at BSC. Together, we’re building a greener, more mindful future—one step at a time. 🌎💚
