FOBISIA U11 Primary Games

A squad of 22 talented and enthusiastic students from The British School in Colombo travelled to Thailand to take part in the FOBISIA U11 Primary Games, held from 26th to 30th April 2025. This much-anticipated event brought together young athletes from leading international schools across Asia for an action-packed week of Swimming, Athletics, Teeball, and Football.

Representing BSC with pride and passion, our students competed in four sports over three days—supported every step of the way by an energetic and dedicated staff team: Mr Shayan (Trip Leader), Mr Prasanna, Ms Kaushi, and Ms Dilasha.

Swimming

  • 13 First Places
  • 3 Second Places
  • 8 Third Places
    Overall Placement: 3rd
Our swimmers delivered an exceptional performance in the pool, showing confidence and composure under pressure. The highlight of the swimming event was the fun-filled tyre relay event.

Athletics

  • 13 First Places
  • 7 Second Places
  • 7 Third Places
    Overall Placement: 6th
An impressive display of grit, speed, and sportsmanship by our athletes across a wide range of events.

Teeball

  • A Team – 1st Place
  • B Team – 4th Place
Incredible communication and determination from both teams, with the A team emerging unbeaten.

Football

  • Girls’ Team – 2nd Place
  • Boys’ Team – 5th Place
Both teams played with resilience and teamwork, improving with every match and making us immensely proud.

While we’re proud of the medals and final results, what stood out even more was the sportsmanship and respect our students consistently showed to everyone around them. We received numerous compliments from event organisers and other schools on how well our children conducted themselves. They competed with heart, character, and dignity—and truly represented the values of BSC.

On our final day together, 30th April, we celebrated an amazing week by spending time as a team. There was basketball, swimming, plenty of laughs, and some hilarious videos that perfectly captured the spirit of the trip.

A huge thank you to our amazing parents for your unwavering support throughout. From the early mornings to the final whistle, your encouragement meant the world to the students and staff alike.
